Grotto Art (dungeon synth)
Just when I though I could not possibly come up with any more new, absolutely random projects, I got a sudden spur of inspiration to make music. Dungeon synth is pretty much the only style of music that I feel I can actually pull off with my very limited musical capabilities. As a genre, dungeon synth is just as fascinating as it is hilarious. It is one of the most obscure genres out there, so if you don't know what it is, don't worry, most of us doesn't. It is the last thing you're ever going to hear from a radio.
It's mostly very DIY oriented fantasy music, that thrives on simple melodies played with a synthesizer. I like the idea of adventurous music that is light hearted and serious at the same time. For me, dungeon synth should sound like you're crawling inside a cave with a weak candle light guiding your way. There's rich symbolism in dungeon synth and I think it invokes an image of psychological caverns and exploring the depths of our minds. I see it as a playground of shadowy archetypes. It is rough around the corners and it doesn't pretend to be anything else than honest expression, not intented to show off. It is almost esoteric — a tool for mental alchemy.
So far I've made few EP's containing a handful of tracks per record. At the moment they are available at Bandcamp.
